Settlement Specialist

The settlement coordinator is primarily responsible to negotiate settlements on behalf of a group of clients, and ensure the settlement payments are scheduled. The settlement coordinator will be responsible to build and develop relationships with creditors, collection agencies, and debt buyers. They must be highly motivated to be the best, and do this by: being creative, building and maintaining creditor contacts, and being smart in the way they target settlements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Call/Email Creditors to obtain lowest possible settlement offer for clients
  • Call Creditors and setup payment information for each settlement offer
  • Input settlement offers and payment into the system
  • Notate client files with all necessary information
  • Send POA’s to creditors as necessary
  • Build and develop relationships with creditors and collection agencies
  • Call/email clients as necessary to obtain approval for settlements or to add funds to program
  • Work savings escrow list to negotiate settlements for client with available funds
  • Participates and contributes actively at each opportunity and meets all company standards including professionalism and attendance
  • Adheres to performance expectations as defined by management and to consistently self-manage, self-motivate and strive for improvement


  • Two years of work related experience. Work related experience should consist of a background in financial services, collections, general sales, or call center experience
  • Intermediate typing and math skills to meet production needs of the position. Microsoft Excel experience a plus
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, read, analyze and interpret documents, understand procedures, write correspondence and speak clearly to members and employees
  • Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties
  • Bilingual(Spanish) a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $32,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year
